Brian Beard bought this truck new in 1967 and still owns it. It is a 1967 Mercury Highboy 4x4 Pickup. The Mercury branded pickups were made for the Canadian-market, but were just rebadged Ford F-Series truck from the same era. The trucks are known for their rarity and ruggedness. The term "Highboy" refers to a specific 4x4 configuration with an elevated stance, though the 1967 Mercury M250 4x4 was a distinct "bumpside" design. These trucks were part of the Mercury M-Series, sold through Lincoln-Mercury dealerships in Canada to provide a truck option in small towns where there was only a Lincoln-Mercury dealerships but not Ford. This 67 Mercury was one of only 212 produced in that year.
